Galicia
Galicia, in the northwest of Spain, is a region with abundant vegetation and a coast in the Atlantic. It has an oceanic climate, where temperatures are mild on the coast (with strong winds) and more extreme inland. The diversity of the Galician climate varies depending on a northern and western maritime area, and a more Mediterranean southern area.
Galician cheeses are cheeses made from cow’s milk, (38% of Spain’s cow’s milk is produced in Galicia). Four Galician cheeses are protected under a PDO, they are the best known and their high quality makes all Galician cheeses more and more so.
